One of the most classic summertime activities for kids is flying a kite! There’s nothing quite like running in an open field, holding the end of the kite’s string and watching it soar up into the sky.
There’s also nothing quite like using duct tape to repair your kid’s cheap plastic kite and watching him run down the sidewalk while the kite is nearly tangled up in the power lines.
Ahem.
Instead of fumbling around with a crappy kite from the dollar store, make your own with this excellent box kite tutorial from Just Measuring Up.
Eileen and Ash, the husband and wife team behind this great DIY blog, are with us again for the Spectacular Summer Blog Hop, and I’m totally impressed with their detailed instructions to make a kite that flies well and will last. Plus, you won’t believe what they used to wrap around the frame. Hint: it’s not fabric!
The Spectacular Summer Blog Hop is a great way for you to virtually meet some new-to-you bloggers and get amazing ideas, recipes, crafts and more for you to try during the summer and beyond! See everything that we’ve shared:
