How to Make an Adorable Watermelon Headband

July 31, 2017 by Laura Kiernan 1 Comment

Last night after my four-year-old daughter washed her hair, I went through the daily struggle of untangling her long mane. Her hair is fine, but it’s wavy and there’s lots of it – so after a busy day at camp running around and swimming in the pool, it resembles a bird’s nest and not Rapunzel’s flowing locks.

If only she would let me put cute accessories in her hair, like this adorable watermelon headband!

Learn how to make this adorable watermelon headband!

Jen from JENerally Informed created this fruity headband with felt, a cheap plastic headband, and a few other basic supplies. It’s a cute way to add a touch of summer to your little one’s outfit! I can also imagine creating the water melons in different sizes to embellish clips, barrettes, or elastics.

This is yet another great summer idea from the Spectacular Summer Blog Hop! Please visit JENerally Informed for the full watermelon headband tutorial (including a handy pattern), then check out all the other creative ideas shared so far in the Spectacular Summer Blog Hop!

Right! We made some extra ones for some barrettes we had sitting around and they were equally fun! Thanks so much for sharing this!
