Easy 30-Minute Apple Recipes to Make If You’re Sick of Pie

October 12, 2017 by Laura Kiernan Leave a Comment

Apples are the quintessential fall fruit, but what happens when you have too many? If you’re tired of traditional apple pies, you’ll love these easy and quick apple recipes you can make in just 30 minutes.

During a classroom visit last week, my seven-year-old handed his writing notebook to me with a devilish smile on his face. Typically he’s self-conscious about his writing and doesn’t want me to read it.

This time, he was a bit too enthusiastic to share the story he wrote about our weekend adventure to the local apple orchard.

I went to the apple orchard with my family. I saw a baby tarantula and we picked WAY too many apples. It was Mommy’s fault.

Okay, fine. It was my fault that we came home with a giant bag of apples. But in my defense, it was cheaper to fill one giant bag than four small ones.

I swear I had nothing to do with the spider.

So yeah, we have a truckload of apples and I’m the only one in the family who follows the old “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” adage.

Quick apple recipes to make when you have too many apples

After making apple pancakes and applesauce and baking an apple pie, we still have too many apples. Now’s the time to get creative about what to do with them.

What do you make with apples when you don’t have much time?

When I come home from a full day at the office, the last thing I want to do is bust out my mixer and stay up late waiting for another pie to bake.

Sure, there are obvious snacks like apples with:

  • Peanut butter
  • Nutella
  • Caramel sauce
  • Cinnamon

But, those options aren’t going to make a dent in that giant bag. What I need are easy, quick apple recipes that I can make after work or between weekend activities.
