Want to add just a touch of spookiness to your fireplace this fall? These easy, simple Halloween mantel decorations you can make in a few minutes will make your living room look festive!
Even if creepy freaks and devilish ghouls aren’t your thing, it’s still possible to have a festive and slightly spooky Halloween mantel. All you need are some cheap accessories and a few minutes to create simple Halloween decorations that will dress up your fireplace mantel.

Basic glass pillar candle holders are super versatile accessories for your home because there are so many ways to customize them for every season or occasion.
One of my favorite ways to dress up plain candle holders is to wrap them with ribbons. I usually choose two coordinating ribbons then layer or stack them as I did for our Halloween mantel decorations.
All you need is a little hot glue or a glue dot to attach the ribbon to itself. That way, you can simply slide the ribbon off the candle holder like a sleeve and save it for next year.
Cheap Interchangeable Artwork
I love all the pretty art prints on sites like Minted.com, but if you switch your art seasonally as I do, then you need a cheaper option.
An incredibly easy and inexpensive way to make your own DIY artwork is to pop wrapping paper or scrapbook paper in a frame.
To coordinate your simple Halloween decorations, simply allow the framed paper to set the color scheme. I love the rich autumn purple and orange hues in this scrapbook paper!

Halloween Dollar Spot Decor
I confess, I’m a huge fan of the dollar spot at Target and can never pass by without tossing something (or many things) in my shopping cart. I found the faux pumpkins on our mantel there, but be sure to check out your local dollar store for faux pumpkins as well. If you don’t like the color, just brush on some craft paint!
The cute pompom spider garland was another Dollar Spot find, but if you want to make your own version, A Beautiful Mess has a great tutorial.
Simple Halloween Mantel Decorations for a Festive Fireplace
What I love about these mantel decorating ideas is that they are so easy to switch out for Thanksgiving. Just swap the spiders for leaf garland and the black pumpkins for a pretty faux succulent pumpkin planter.
