If you’re wondering what to declutter in March, you’ve come to the right place! Learn what part of your home to declutter this month and get a free printable March declutter calendar to keep track of your tasks and progress.
Birds are chirping, the days are longer, and it may even be warm enough to open the windows!
Or, a blizzard’s just rolled through town. In March, you just never know what’ll happen.
But you know what is happening?
Stores are filling up with cute spring clothes, and maybe your quarterly StitchFix order’s arriving soon.
Unfortunately, your closet is overstuffed with sweaters you never wore all winter (because global warming), and your waistline is a tad thicker thanks to that box of Valentine’s Day Godiva chocolates.
Nevermind that it’s hard to grab underwear from the drawer that’s not totally stretched out (so unsexy!).
March is a great time to get organized and declutter clothes to make room in your closet for all those fun warm-weather outfits. And, I bet your kids outgrew last year’s spring clothes, too.
So, let’s get to it and use the free printable March declutter calendar to spring-clean your wardrobe!

How to Use the Printable Declutter Calendar this Month
You’ll notice that the declutter calendar pack has monthly pages and weekly pages.
Monthly Calendar Pages
The monthly calendar pages are designed to help you focus on a single project throughout the month, broken down by weekly focus areas.
First, print out the March calendar page and write “clothes” or “wardrobe” in the “Project of the Month” box. Then, write in the dates since the calendar is undated.
Your first step is to divide your project into weekly categories. You could declutter based on where your clothes are (like your dresser), or by types of clothes.
Here are some categories for decluttering your clothes:
- Dresser
- Closet
- Off-season boxes in attic/basement
- Sweaters
- Pants and shorts
- T-shirts
- Exercise clothes
- Swimwear
- Underwear/lingerie
- Sleepwear
- Socks/hosiery
- Blouses
- Dresses
- Skirts
Next, you’ll choose one category to work on each week and write them down on the calendar.
Depending on how much clothing clutter you have, you could stop here.
But, if you only have a few minutes to spend decluttering each day or find the mess overwhelming, you can move on to the next step.
Weekly Calendar Pages
The declutter calendar includes weekly planning pages so that you can break each category into specific tasks.
For example, during the first week of March, your category could be your dresser drawers. On Monday, you declutter your t-shirt drawer, and specific tasks could be:
- Create piles for keep, toss, and donate
- Put ones you know you love in a “keep” pile
- Review all others for tears and stains; throw those away
- Put shirts that are in good condition but don’t fit or you don’t like in a donation bag
Your big weekend task is to take clothes you want to donate to your local donation center.
